How It Works

An ultrasonic sensor emits a burst of high-frequency sound waves (typically above 20 kHz). These waves travel to the target and reflect back. The sensor measures the time-of-flight and converts it to a distance value. Because sound reflects off most surfaces, ultrasonic sensors can detect liquids, powders, granules, and solid objects without contact.
